STEMology is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people we teach. This policy reflects current UK statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
Our commitment
- The welfare of the child is always our paramount concern.
- Every child has the right to learn in a safe, respectful environment.
- We listen to children and take any disclosure seriously.
- We act promptly and proportionately on any concern.
Tutor checks & training
- All tutors hold an Enhanced DBS check.
- Tutors complete safeguarding training relevant to working with under-18s.
- References and identity are verified before any tutoring begins.
Online lesson safety
- Sessions take place on a secure platform with parent-shared joining details.
- Recordings, where used, are stored securely and only for educational purposes.
- 1–1 communication outside lesson times is via parent/guardian only.
- Students are encouraged to learn in a shared family space at home.
Designated Safeguarding Lead
Concerns about a child’s welfare should be reported immediately to our Designated Safeguarding Lead at info@stemologytuition.com. Concerns will be handled confidentially and, where appropriate, escalated to local authority safeguarding services.

Review
This policy is reviewed annually and updated when statutory guidance changes.
